Stephanie DiMarco

Chief Executive Officer


As founder and Chief Executive Officer, Stephanie DiMarco has engineered the growth of Advent into one of the world’s leading providers of software and services to the investment management industry. From its founding in 1983, through a successful IPO in 1995, to record revenues in 2010, Ms. DiMarco has built Advent into a global company with 4,400 clients in more than 60 countries around the world. Prior to founding Advent, Ms. DiMarco worked in the investment industry as a financial analyst and portfolio manager. In 2011, Ms. DiMarco was recognized as one of 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds in a survey conducted by The Hedge Fund Journal and was selected as Financial Woman of the Year in 2003 by the Financial Women's Association.  Ms. DiMarco received the Business Leader of the Year by the Haas School of Business in 2000, and was named one of the top 10 financial technology innovators of the decade by Wall Street & Technology Magazine. She serves on the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and is a board member of the San Francisco Foundation, where she chairs the Foundation’s Investment committee. Ms. DiMarco holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

Pete Hess

President


As President of Advent Software, Pete Hess is responsible for the worldwide marketing, sales, services and support for the Company, including its Asset Management, Global Accounts, and Black Diamond groups, as well as the Company’s international operations. Prior to his appointment to President, Mr. Hess served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Advent’s largest business group, where he headed strategy, product marketing, sales, services and support and led the group to record revenues. Mr. Hess was also responsible for Advent’s growing international operations. Mr. Hess has been with Advent since 1994, and has held a variety of positions in the company, including Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Global Accounts business unit, and, previously, Vice President of Sales and Vice President of Marketing. Mr. Hess earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University.

John Brennan

Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Facilities


John Brennan joined Advent in March of 2004 and is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources. In this role, Mr. Brennan focuses on building and strengthening Advent’s world-class organization with programs and strategies for recruiting, developing and retaining the industry’s strongest talent. Before Advent, Mr. Brennan was Vice President of Human Resources for Wind River Systems, in Alameda, CA, which produces embedded software for various consumer and industrial applications. Prior to Wind River, Mr. Brennan held various positions at Visa International. Mr. Brennan began his Human Resources career with assignments at Westinghouse Electric Company and Pacific Gas and Electric. He has a master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Music from Hamilton College.

Lily Chang

Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer


Lily Chang directs all of Advent's engineering efforts in terms of new product development and product enhancement. In addition, Ms. Chang focuses on advanced development projects and emerging technologies. Under her leadership, Advent has developed and evolved several of the industry’s leading products, including Geneva, Axys, Moxy, Advent Partner and Advent Portfolio Exchange. Ms. Chang came to Advent in 1993 from Oracle, where she was the Vice President of Strategic Accounts, responsible for helping to build strategic account relationships and for managing a group delivering Oracle-based tailored applications for Fortune 500 clients. Ms. Chang has over 20 years of experience in product development. Her experience also includes acting as Vice President of Development for Tesseract's human resources applications and Vice President for Knauer Consulting for banking applications. Ms. Chang is a graduate of Taiwan University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.

Reed Colley

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Black Diamond


Reed Colley joined Advent in 2011 and is responsible for setting the company’s Advisory strategy and leading Advent’s Black Diamond business unit.  Black Diamond Performance Reporting is a fully outsourced, Internet-based performance reporting application designed specifically for investment advisors. Mr. Colley founded Black Diamond in 2003 and served as the company’s CEO, where he had responsibility for all aspects of the Company’s operation and planning, overseeing strategic planning and product development for the Company. Prior to founding Black Diamond, Mr. Colley was a Vice President at Investment Scorecard based in Nashville, Tennessee where he was responsible for developing the company’s Internet-based application that reported on over $200 billion in managed assets, as well as managing the product and development teams.  Mr. Colley holds a Bachelor of Science with degrees in Economics and Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University.

James Cox

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer


James Cox joined Advent in 2006 and is now Chief Financial Officer.  In this role, he is responsible for Advent’s accounting, financial reporting, treasury, tax and finance related operations.   Prior to his appointment as Principal Accounting Officer, Mr. Cox served as Corporate Controller.  Mr. Cox came to Advent from UTStarcom where he served as Assistant Controller.  From 1994 to 2004, he held various positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Mr. Cox holds a B.A. in Economics from Ohio University.

Todd Gottula

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Accounts and Tamale


Todd Gottula is Co-Head and General Manager of Advent’s Global Accounts and Tamale business units. In this role, he has global responsibility for product design, delivery, implementation and support of Advent’s solutions for the alternative asset management industry, including the Geneva® platform. Mr. Gottula also oversees the ongoing product strategy, development and delivery of Advent’s Tamale research management solution. Mr. Gottula has been with Advent since 2002, holding a variety of technical leadership roles in product development and client support. Prior to joining Advent, he held development and services leadership positions with TenFold Corporation, an enterprise solution and technology provider, and process engineering and design positions at Ultramar Diamond Shamrock (now Valero) Refining and Technology. Mr. Gottula earned his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.

Chris Momsen

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Accounts and Tamale


Chris Momsen is Co-Head of Advent’s Global Accounts and Tamale business units. Within Global Accounts, Mr. Momsen has global responsibility for strategy, product marketing and sales of Advent’s solutions for the alternative asset management industry, including the Geneva platform. Mr. Momsen also directs global strategy and sales and marketing for Advent’s Tamale research management solution. Mr. Momsen has been with Advent since 1997, holding a variety of leadership roles in product marketing and sales, and has earned the distinction of being a top producing salesperson for the company. In 2008, he led the establishment of Advent Asia, Ltd., and is responsible for growing Advent's market share across Asia and the Pacific Rim. Prior to joining Advent, Mr. Momsen held positions at Wells Fargo in its Real Estate Capital Markets division, at a small money management firm in California, and as an options trader on the floor of the Pacific Exchange. Mr. Momsen earned his undergraduate degree from UCLA, and his MBA from New York University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Anthony Sperling

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asset Management Group


Anthony Sperling is Co-Head and General Manager of Advent Software’s Asset Management Group. In this role he is responsible for strategy, product marketing, sales, services, and support of Advent’s solutions for the asset management industry. Mr. Sperling has been with Advent since 1993 and has held a variety of positions including Senior Vice President, Services and Vice President of Client Sales, and Director of Product Marketing. He has also had sales and services responsibilities in Advent’s European operations. Mr. Sperling holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at River Falls.

Håkan Valberg

Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMEA


Håkan Valberg joined Advent in 2003 and is now the Senior Vice President and General Manager for EMEA, responsible for all aspects of growing Advent’s market share across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to joining Advent, Mr. Valberg had accumulated over 20 years of experience working for companies providing high-end solutions to global markets. He served in senior roles for IBM, i2 Technologies, and IMI, enjoying considerable success growing their international businesses and leading large teams to achieve strategic business goals. Mr. Valberg has a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Management Engineering.

Doug Yokoyama

Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asset Management Group


Doug Yokoyama joined Advent in 2003 and is Co-Head and General Manager of Advent’s Asset Management Group. In this role, Mr. Yokoyama leads the product development teams responsible for Advent’s solutions for the asset management industry. Mr. Yokoyama oversees the development of solutions that lower costs and operating risk for Advent’s clients including, streamlining data integration, providing hosting and outsourcing services, and providing connectivity to counterparties. Prior to joining Advent, Mr. Yokoyama held a variety of product and development leadership positions in collaboration technology and portfolio management. He has also held positions in the investment management industry. Mr. Yokoyama earned an undergraduate degree in International Studies from Juniata College and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Delaware.
