Advent’s WealthLine Adopted by Wealth Management Providers

San Francisco , February 11, 2002 - Advent Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADVS) announces that Avalon Advisors LP, Plante & Moran, LLP, Security Trust Company and SYM Financial Corporation have been selected to participate as partners in Advent’s WealthLineSM Advisory Council, and will be among the first firms to bring comprehensive wealth management services to their clients through WealthLine functionality. WealthLine Advisory Council participants have been selected to work with Advent to test the service and finalize functionality before it is made generally available later this year.

WealthLine is a service from Advent that enables easier and more meaningful communication between advisors and their clients through a comprehensive private-labeled web site. WealthLine, developed with Microsoft, integrates investment data and financial reports from Advent’s software applications and Advent TrustedNetwork® data service with MSN Money Professional, Microsoft’s Web-based customer communications service built for professional financial advisors. WealthLine delivers consolidated investment reports from multiple institutions, comprehensive financial information, and a variety of other important information to their clients through a secure web site.

“Online access to accounts is absolutely essential in today’s environment, and WealthLine is giving us an opportunity to develop a truly sophisticated web site for our clients,” said Willie Langston, Managing Partner of Avalon Advisors. “With WealthLine’s design, we can publish important third-party information, including information from clients’ accountants, lawyers, or other third-party advisors, onto one secure site for them.”

“It’s very important for us not just to manage our clients’ money effectively, but to truly collaborate with them on their financial goals. WealthLine’s collaborative functionality gives us the ability to do both,” said Jerry Yeager JD, Principal at SYM Financial. “Teaming up with Advent and Microsoft to deliver WealthLine gives us access to great technology partners while allowing us focus on our core competencies of wealth management.”

“WealthLine is offering us a brand new way of delivering quality information to our clients,” said Grant Seeger, CEO of Security Trust. “Now our clients can access comprehensive reporting on a specifically branded web site, any time they wish.”

“WealthLine was the only product we found that would allow us to efficiently gather information from the more than 30 custodians we use, then provide our clients with a place to access all of their financial information at one time,” said Art Albin, Partner with Plante & Moran, LLP. “We provide our clients with a tax-sensitive approach to wealth management, and WealthLine’s ability to track cost basis, realized gains and losses, and other tax-sensitive information is in line with our consulting philosophy. It puts timely access to comprehensive financial data just clicks away from our clients.”

“Our WealthLine Advisory Council partners are leading the way in providing comprehensive wealth management services to their clients,” said Brian Bailard, Vice President of Wealth Management Solutions at Advent. “WealthLine provides a powerful tool to help advisors deliver better service, increase the value of their wealth management offering and compete successfully.”

Advent Software will join Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) today as it demonstrates WealthLine at the IDG Executive Forum “DEMO” show. DEMO has established a reputation for identifying and presenting the products most likely to have a significant impact on the market trends in the coming year. The annual DEMO conference focuses on emerging technologies and new products, which are hand-selected by executive producers Chris Shipley and Jim Forbes from across the spectrum of the personal technology marketplace.
