The HFN Hedge Fund Industry Asset Flow / Performance Report is an in-depth guide to the flow of assets and performance for the hedge fund industry. The report is made available by subscription on a quarterly basis and details asset flows beginning in the fourth quarter ending December 31, 2007.
Flow information is designed to show not just total asset levels, growth and decline, but the sources of asset growth/decline as well. These sources of flows are broken down into changes in assets due to performance, flows in or out of existing funds, and flows due to the creation of new funds or the liquidation of funds. The report aggregates all flow data into six categories comprised of over fifty different criteria. The categories are; all single manager funds (the headline industry figure), fund of funds, fund domiciles and manager location, investment region or country, asset classes, and specific sectors or strategies.
