FIX-Based Trade Messaging
Electronic Order Routing and Trade Execution
The Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol has become the industry’s open standard for electronic trade communication. Clients of Moxy®, Advent's trade order management system, have several options for sending and receiving FIX-based messages with their counterparties. Moxy’s open architecture, combined with its flexible FIX engine, supports a variety of trading messages and scenarios.
Key benefits of FIX include:
- Utilize standard FIX message types such as new order single, order cancel/replace, execution reports, allocations, DK, and many others
- Gain support for custom tags using fixed mapping , mapped values, or derived values
- Enhance communication with two-way FIX messaging (e.g., orders out, fills back) and one-way or unsolicited trade requests (UTRs)
Advent supports three methods of sending and receiving FIX messages:
- Sungard Transaction Network [STN]—The Advent/Sungard alliance provides STN clients with access to more than 200 certified destinations through a turnkey data connection and software solution. Learn more
- Advent’s FIX Certification Program—Advent works directly with sell-side providers to certify their FIX connectivity on behalf of Moxy clients.
- Self-Service Model—Clients purchase software from Advent and work directly with their counterparties to certify connectivity.
