Advent Software Announces Record Attendance at Annual Client Conference

Advent Highlights Industry Trends and Showcases Product Functionality at Customer Gathering

SAN FRANCISCO – September 17, 2008 – Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADVS), a leading provider of software and services to the investment management industry, today announced record-setting attendance at their 2008 Annual Client Conference held in Las Vegas.  The event, which took place September 8 – 10, was Advent’s largest and most successful conference to date with nearly 1,400 attendees.  The conference also included Advent’s Annual Analyst and Investor Event.

“As Advent celebrates its 25th anniversary, it’s especially gratifying to have had record-setting attendance at the conference this year,” said Advent’s Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Stephanie DiMarco.  “The excellent turnout validates that Advent’s innovative product offering continues to play a crucial role in enabling our customers to streamline operations, enhance profitability and achieve new levels of client service and operational excellence.”

Advent’s conference is aimed at updating customers on new product functionality and industry trends, and included informative presentations on future product plans, client success stories, and corporate initiatives. Conference attendees gained valuable information from more than 150 interactive sessions presented by Advent product and industry experts as well as Advent customers.  Attendees also took advantage of on-site product labs, where they participated in various demonstrations of Advent solutions, including its award-winning portfolio management platforms, Advent Portfolio Exchange® and Geneva®, and Moxy®, its leading trade order management solution.

The conference opened with a keynote speech by DiMarco.  She discussed the current challenges and opportunities in the market; and explained how Advent’s products help customers to keep pace with, or ahead of, the rapidly evolving investment management industry by helping them meet high standards of quality and accuracy, comply with stringent regulations, and strengthen client relationships.

During her keynote, DiMarco also announced that Advent has signed a definitive agreement in which Advent will acquire Tamale Software, a leader in research management solutions (RMS).  The acquisition, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2008, will further extend Advent's footprint in the front office and will establish the company as a leader in the rapidly growing RMS market.
