San Francisco, CA, May 20, 2002 - Advent Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADVS), announces that Irv H. Lichtenwald, its Chief Financial Officer, will retire at the end of August 2002.
“Irv has been a tremendous asset in helping Advent grow during his long tenure with the company, and we will certainly miss him,” said Peter Caswell, Chief Executive Officer of Advent Software. “We thank Irv for continuing to work with us in finding his successor.”
“I have been contemplating retirement for quite a while but wanted to wait until the time was right. Since I joined Advent seven years ago, the company has evolved to more than 925 talented people with a very strong management team. It is a great feeling to know one can move on and leave things in such capable hands,” said Lichtenwald. “Change can sometimes be greeted with trepidation, but in the end I believe it is inevitable, and after nearly 25 years in the software industry, including 18 years in the role of CFO at two different companies, I felt now was the time for me to move on to pursue other interests.”
“Irv has been not only added impressively to the success of Advent over the years, but he’s also been a wonderful friend and advisor,” said Stephanie DiMarco, founder and Chairman of Advent Software. “We all wish him well in the next phase of his life.”
