Advent Software Earns Prestigious Support Center Practices Certification for Delivering Superior Client Support

San Francisco, October 26, 2005 – Advent Software, Inc., (NASDAQ: ADVS), a leading provider of investment management solutions, announces that its Client Support organization has achieved certification under the prestigious Support Center Practices (SCP) Certification program.  Advent achieved certification after an extensive audit of its San Francisco support center.  SCP Certification quantifies the effectiveness of customer support based upon a stringent set of performance standards and represents best practices in the industry.

"Advent's Client Support organization has consistently offered knowledgeable, professional people to assist us with our software questions. Not only does everyone in their organization have an extensive understanding of the Advent products, but they also understand my business, which is a great way to be able to interact with a software provider," said Shalamar Kanemoto, manager of operations for Parametric Portfolio Associates, an eight-year Advent client.

"We are extremely proud to be the first organization in the investment management software industry to have earned the SCP certification. This provides confirmation that Advent has the people, the training, the processes and the infrastructure to generate the highest levels of satisfaction among our clients," said Anthony Sperling, vice president, U.S. services and support, Advent Software. "Earning SCP certification validates our commitment to delivering exceptional support to our clients."

SCP Certification, the internationally recognized standard created by a consortium of leading technology companies and Service Strategies Corp., defines best practices for delivering world-class technology support. The program quantifies the effectiveness of customer support, establishes a foundation to build on existing quality processes, and provides a clear focus on measurable results. SCP Certification requires comprehensive on-site audits to confirm that companies meet the requirements of approximately 100 business elements defined in the program. Certified organizations must demonstrate their continued commitment to high performance standards through annual re-certification audits.

"Advent has shown its commitment to their customers through the investment of time and resources in preparing for and successfully passing the SCP certification audit," said Greg Coleman, Service Strategies vice president of certification programs. "I feel confident that Advent's customers will continue to experience a high level of support and benefit from their support organization's ongoing commitment to quality improvement."

Advent joins the ranks of other leading technology companies that have achieved the prestigious and sought-after SCP Certification, including EMC Corporation, McKesson Corporation, Mentor Graphics, Network Appliance Incorporated, Nokia, and Xerox Corporation, among others.
