San Francisco, February 12, 2001 - Advent Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADVS) the leading provider of Enterprise Investment Management (EIM) technology, announces the release of Geneva¸ 4.0, the newest generation of Advent's advanced, real-time, global portfolio accounting system for firms that demand true multi-currency, high performance portfolio accounting.
Geneva gives investment professionals the reliable information they need to manage the complex requirements of operating twenty-four hours a day in investment markets around the world. Advent's list of Geneva clients include some of the most well-known names on Wall Street, representing the financial sectors of global asset managers, prime brokerage organizations and hedge funds. Geneva's powerful accounting engine also has been useful for firms outside these traditional sectors.
The latest version of Geneva includes performance measurement for computing an internal rate of return (IRR), the development of middleware technology, an architectural port to 64 bit, and functional enhancements for the global asset management market.
"We are very excited about Geneva's middleware tool in our latest release," said Rick Eng, Geneva Product Manager, Advent Software. "Most of our customers tightly integrate Geneva with their back-office systems, and use the accounting information that Geneva processes to feed ancillary systems that rely on that data. With Geneva's new Synchronization Utility, users can automatically, in real time, pass data into those systems, ensuring accounting integrity, synchronization and reconciliation between systems.
Geneva also features an object oriented, main-memory resident database; a robust accounting engine that solves fundamental portfolio accounting problems; an extensive toolset to ensure rapid, flexible applications development; and a client/server architecture optimized for browser-style access.
"When we began developing Geneva we set out to build a premier global portfolio accounting solution that could handle the complexities inherent in global portfolio accounting. The success we've had to date with Geneva, particularly its adoption by some of the industry's leading firms, is proving to be a real validation of our original goals," said Stephanie DiMarco, chairman of Advent Software.
