Corporate Actions: Simplifying What’s Inherently Complex

Lack of access to accurate, timely and comprehensive corporate actions information can have a ripple effect on your investment firm’s positions, cash and cost basis. This can lead to significant financial risk – potentially costing millions of dollars. Additionally, as corporate action events grow in both volume and complexity, operations teams encounter greater challenges in managing this data accurately and efficiently.

We are excited to announce the latest release of Advent Corporate Actions, a solution that minimizes operational risk by providing an aggregated, normalized, golden source of corporate action data. Partnering with multiple leading data providers such as ICE, EDI, and Wolters Kluwer, we cover not only simple actions such as splits, dividends and symbol changes but also complex events like taxable and non-taxable mergers, combination mergers, spin-offs, return of capital and more for equities and fixed income. Specifically, our collaboration with Wolters Kluwer includes an in-house team of lawyers and accountants who specialize in corporate actions. This means we can speed up the review process and get our clients important information—like proration factors and adjustments—much faster. Our combination of strong legal support and quick data access keeps trading disruptions to a minimum, ensuring our clients can operate smoothly.

Here are some of the key features from the latest release:

  • Views and Reports: Better accessibility to critical information tailored for various users
  • Intuitive User Interface: Simply track and manage corporate events with enhanced visualizations, filtering, sorting and workflows
  • Action Calendar: Easily find upcoming and historical events that matter to you
  • Daily Email Overview: Stay informed with an email summary that outlines your upcoming corporate actions, recent alerts, the status of transactions and a summary of your securities

The new release supports Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities and is built on the latest technology, including GraphQL and Kubernetes to ensure the processing of nearly 4 million event announcements and the 70,000 transactions we process every year on the platform.

As we move forward, our continued enhancements in corporate actions data will empower investment firms to operate more confidently, navigate complexities with ease and focus on strategies that drive value. Request a demo to see Advent Corporate Actions in action.
