Webinar: Time for a Fresh Look at Tamale

Tamale RMS, SS&C Advent’s research management solution, is breaking new ground with its latest release.  All Tamale users are now equipped to work in a modern, feature-rich, cloud environment that will feel both familiar and intuitive, while introducing a number of updates and enhancements. This dynamic experience empowers users to easily search, personalize, and visualize their research information.

Last month, Tamale Account Management Lead, Tom Morsanutto and Matt Cunha, Director, Technical Product Management, hosted a 30-minute webinar combining an overview of Tamale with a step-by-step walk-through of the latest changes and enhancements. Chief among these is a new, personalized home screen for each individual user. The new search field is enhanced to perform easier queries at multiple levels – from broad to granular – while enabling quick navigation to specific investments, topics, notes, or contacts. A redesigned entity screen displays all the information on an investment, whether a fund or a security. Tamale’s flexibility also allows administrators to customize screens based on the type of investment; for example, add a Legal Docs tab for Funds to quickly access governing documents for individual fund managers.

Another noteworthy change includes the expansion of Livewire access, an email auto-categorizing feature. Previously available only in the desktop version, Livewire is now accessible via the web interface in Tamale. In addition, the note-creation feature within Tamale now auto-saves work every few seconds, so valuable data never disappears. There’s also a new audit trail capturing a full history of all changes to research notes and a record of views by users. This is valuable not only for research team members, but for compliance officers to track the people and the process behind the firm’s investment decisions.

The enhancements embedded in this latest Tamale release are the result of our ongoing conversations with clients. The primary goal is to establish a user-friendly and versatile, cloud user experience. As discussed during the webinar, the future of Tamale includes innovations that leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning, and new integrations with popular productivity applications. Moreover, users can expect more frequent releases starting in 2020, with the option to subscribe to new releases for automatic updates.

Current Tamale users will want to check out the webinar for a deeper dive into all the enhancements. And, for firms that are considering research management options, the new, fresh look of Tamale is worth a fresh look.
