Innovation at Scale: How Global Organizations Create Space for Great Ideas

Our customers depend on two things: the proven strength of our technology to run their business today and our vision for developing solutions that will meet tomorrow's demands.

Succeeding at both requires a thoughtful approach to innovation, one that combines the expertise, resources, and operational maturity of a global organization with the cutting-edge ideas and unique insights of employees working around the world.

SS&C Advent's 2026 Innovation Challenge demonstrates what can happen when those two strengths come together.

This year, teams across the globe stepped outside their day-to-day responsibilities to collaborate, experiment, and test ideas that might otherwise remain unexplored. In a short amount of time, employees came together to develop projects that address real business and technology challenges.

In this post, we share highlights from the 2026 Innovation Challenge and explore what becomes possible when innovation is not an isolated activity, but a shared part of how teams work, collaborate, and solve problems together.

The Innovation Challenge: Creating Space for Experimentation

In a fast-moving organization like ours, employees are often focused on their key priorities: delivering for customers, supporting colleagues, and advancing key business initiatives.

That's why creating intentional opportunities for experimentation matters.

SS&C Advent’s annual Innovation Challenge is one example of this philosophy in action. The global initiative brings together employees from across the organization to collaborate, solve real business challenges, and develop working solutions in a compressed timeframe. Teams have 48 hours to transform ideas into functioning projects, with regional winners advancing to a global competition.

By making space for that type of experimentation, innovation becomes an active practice rather than an aspirational goal.

The Regional Winners: Innovative Thinking, Solving Real-World Challenges

Teams from regional competitions in Beijing, Hyderabad, NOAM, and EMEA came together to participate in the Innovation Challenge.

This year, AI was a required component of every submission, encouraging teams to explore new approaches to complex business and technology challenges.

These regional collaborations focused on applying technology in impactful ways, from streamlining engineering workflows and reducing manual processes to enhancing portfolio insights. In each case, teams developed solutions with the potential to influence the future of our products and services.

Entries were evaluated on innovation, technical execution, and business value by judging panels made up of leaders from product management, engineering, quality assurance, client services, and program management.

The eight regional winners showcased a range of solutions designed to improve developer productivity, automate reconciliation processes, accelerate troubleshooting, deliver portfolio insights, and simplify complex operational workflows.

These regional winners will advance to the Battle of Champions, where they’ll have a chance to further develop their solutions and showcase advanced iterations as they compete for the title of 2026 Innovation Challenge Champion.

The competition demonstrates how innovation accelerates when employees collaborate across teams, disciplines, and geographies to solve meaningful problems.

Beyond the Projects: Building a Culture of Innovation

What began as a small, R&D-focused event has evolved into a global competition spanning the organization. As the challenge has grown, so too has the technology behind it, with AI now playing a key role in every project.

But the value of the Innovation Challenge extends beyond the solutions that emerge. The competition demonstrates how some of the strongest ideas develop when people with different experiences, perspectives, and areas of expertise step outside their day-to-day responsibilities and collaborate in new ways.

As technology evolves faster than ever, the Innovation Challenge reinforces a culture where employees are encouraged to think creatively, collaborate across boundaries, and explore new possibilities.

By fostering that mindset, SS&C Advent is helping prepare its people and its business for what comes next.
